    (KGP200)

    Field Trips

    KGP200 courses include one field trip per session.
    The homeroom instructor will announce details regarding the field trip schedule in the beginning of the semester.
    Examples) Visiting an art gallery, museum, attending a performance, taking a Taekwondo class, making folk art, making Korean food, doing a temple stay, etc.

    Special Culture Class

    Special Culture Class (Korean)

    KGP200 courses include one special culture class, taught in Korean, per session.

    • A cultural expert will be invited to give a lecture, which will be followed by a question and answer session.
    • The entire class is conducted in Korean.
    • The class will be offered in the afternoon from 2-4pm (2 hours), and light refreshments will be offered before and after the class.
    • Students may check the notice board in their classroom or KLEC’s homepage for details regarding the dates and how to register.

    Free extra courses

    Pronunciation
    • In order to help students understand and improve the accuracy of their pronunciation, KGP200 offers a 6-hour pronunciation course.
    • Pronunciation classes are divided according to level, and up to 16 students may register for each class (registration is first come, first serve).
    • Students may check the notice board in their classroom or KLEC’s homepage for details regarding the dates and how to register.
    Grammar
    • For students hoping to have an accurate understanding of grammar and improve their ability to utilize it, and prepare for the Korean language proficiency test, a total of six hours of grammar classes is offered.

    Films
    • Sogang University holds a total of 6 movie screenings per session for KLEC students.
    • Any KLEC student is invited to attend these screenings, regardless of level.

    K-pop
    • In order to inspire KLEC students to learn about K-pop and study Korean, the KGP200 course offers a total of 6 K-pop classes per session.
    • During K-pop classes, students will learn 1 recent, popular song per class and practice understanding and singing along

    Extra Courses offered for a fee

    Chinese Character
    • Extending vocabulary by learning Chinese characters which takes significant in ‘date, season, time and nature’ part of Korean Language
    TOPIKⅡ-1
    • Recommended for level 3~4 students preparing for achieving TOPIKⅡ level 5 or higher level.
    TOPIKⅡ-2
    • Recommended for level 5~7 students preparing for achieving TOPIKⅡ level 6 or higher level (aiming highest score in the test).
    Korean Language and
    current issues on news.
    • Learning difficult vocabulary and expressions and understand current issues on Korean Society through newspapers and news.
    Sogang Korean Language Teaching Method Work Shop1
    • Studying methods to teach speaking, listening, reading and writing efficiently, as a Korean Language teacher.
    • Participating beginner level classes and lecturing mock course.
